Reflecting on a RareWaters Visit

Reflecting on a RareWaters Visit

RareWaters offers anglers an opportunity to achieve a serene fly fishing experience catered toward angler enjoyment. From the moment an angler begins to explore the possibilities for a RareWaters adventure the entire experience is focused on what I call a high return for your investment. By that I mean do you get a satisfactory amount of reward, pleasure, enjoyment for the dollars you spend for your experience? The answer is yes.

RareWaters holds a large amount of access in Colorado and Wyoming where anglers can design their own angling experience. Choosing a property that is close to you or in proximity to your location is the first choice anglers need to determine. Traveling anglers have the opportunity to construct a private property angling experience around their travel plans. All the properties have unique characteristics that make each location attractive.

A “must have” to even be considered for a RareWaters property is a continuous, mile long stretch of river. Wading anglers can find a huge amount of possibilities within a mile of river water. There is no emphasis placed on time or hurry involved, the place is yours.

After selecting a place to fish, RareWaters will reach out to solidify your reservation and confirm your intentions. Emails will keep anglers in constant contact, eliminating the chance for confusion or misunderstanding. RareWaters provides a written description of the property, directions to the specific location and maps of the whereabouts such as parking areas, fishing boundaries and more.

The emailed property information is a key component to the success of the RareWaters experience. The property descriptions contain critical information to steer anglers towards an experience filled with serenity and success. Boundaries on the map and physical signage on the property keep anglers from inadvertently trespassing on adjacent properties. And GPS coordinates give a sense of definition to the place that is real, tangible and precise.

The morning proved to be cold and held the bite off until temperatures improved. I was fishing during the Thanksgiving break which normally would be difficult because of winter weather. However, bright sunshine and blue bird skies combined with higher than expected temperatures have extended the fly fishing season in Colorado. Even winter fly fishing has become a regular affair.

The morning fishing action picked up with the warming temperatures. Anglers were experiencing success fishing classic nymph rigs and Euro nymphs. The largest fish of the day was taken on a small, off-white woolly bugger. The heavy brown followed the fly a long distance before commiting. Not only was it the biggest fish of the trip, the visual nature of the “eat” made the fish even more memorable, a RareWaters memory for sure.

We indulged in sandwiches and chips before relocating for the afternoon. The after lunch session began at the downstream boundary. Each anglers chose their flies with purpose, with everyone using different bugs until a pattern revealed that we could decipher. Advancing up river, we took turns presenting our flies in only the most prime spots.

We waded along without worry or care for time or belongings. My gear had been strewn about the trucks and left unattended while we fished. And I wasn’t a bit concerned. This is RareWaters, nobody is messing around here. Behaviors that would not be acceptable on a public boat ramp or access point become less of a concern when the thought of theft is eliminated.

Overall the RareWaters day I enjoyed was packed full of spectacular scenery, uncrowded water and fish. We caught a lot of trout for a late November outing. Which is a testament to how RareWaters provides a high quality experience well beyond the normal seasonal constraints. Given the time of year, the river was quiet with not another angler, boat or recreational water lover seen the entire day.

RareWaters delivers the opportunity for anglers to obtain an adventure where serenity and angling collide to form a private water experience that is hard to find. Eliminating the chance for competition and ensuring a level of security you can not find on public water, RareWaters can design the trip of a lifetime all from a few clicks on your computer. From the beginning to the end RareWaters infuses a high degree of satisfaction into your overall angling experience.
